What ever happened to the simpler times in automotive concepts? and the good old days of Pinto's, Vega's, Chevette's, Aster's, Gremlin's, Rampage's, Horizon's, Laser's...etc.

There was nothing wrong these cars...and they were economical. It's another farce we've all been brainwashed with!!! and I also don't believe our air is anymore polluted today than it was back in the 70s and 80s............we're all lead to believe this government BS!!!!!

I also say our government is trying to crush and get all these cars off the road so we are all FORCED to buy the expensive cars of today and if you can't afford...then you either walk or do mass transit to commute. It's all about CONTROL!!!!!!

Something don't add up and we all need to stop and think wtf is wrong or happening here?? The damn cars of today cost as much as a f***** house, but yet the car industry is shot and claiming bankruptcies!? I say bring em back and re-build them to todays specs and the whole car industry and jobs would turn around!!!! along with sales... get back to cars that the average working people can afford to buy!!!

Anyway I'm lookin for a Pinto!!!!!! and I got "ca$h" for the clunker! To hell with all these fandangled pimped out cars of today with mortgage payments due on them!

I hear ya Bro, I remember back in the late 70's ,early 80's,where some cars were getting 30-40 miles per gallon and some were advertised as as much as 60 in some of the diesles, now they advertise 28-30 miles a gallon and act like they are doing something spectacular, I have a 99 chvey 4wd that I get 26/28 miles a gallon with when i keep my lead foot off of it,lmao. Not sure if I can find you a pinto but I have seen a Gremlin sitting somewhere or hey, maybe a nice Pacer?lmao. No offense but you just couldnt pay me enought to drive an ugly car, especially a Prius or Scion.keep rolling Bro and be aware of the Gvt Bull.Semper Fi.Jim

Hey, I had a 1980 diesel Chevette! Many didn't realize that Chevy made one but I found one and that little booger got 41 mpg with a four speed!

Oh what memories the Pinto photo evokes =D I've always been a fan of the simple machines. I can dismantle a '65 Buick and put it back together in one evening but give me a '09 Buick and I can't change the freakin' oil! My first car was a '72 Plymouth Gold Duster that stickered at $3,200 and the aftermarket air conditioning cost a whopping $266 to install. We're talking Hi-back buckets, gold shag carpet, simulated snakeskin top AND full wheel covers!
